Travel opinion: minbak or yeogwan

so I've been asking everyone, might as well ask here too

when you travel in korea, which do you prefer: 민박 or 여관?

most of my korean friends think 민박 is better because you get food too... I was thinking it might give a closer contact with the locals too... and also you wouldn't have to listen to "오빠 오빠!" from the next door room of a 여관...

what do you think? what have your experiences been?

from my expriences....

there is nice 여관 too... like hotel : D

if you go to 민박, you also can meet new friends there too.. which is nice if you are traveling alone..
(민박으로 가면 새로운 친구도 만날 수 있어요... 혼자 여행을 하는 경우 좋겠죠)

also, for girls, i think 민박 is safer than 여관.
(그리고, 제 생각에는 여자들한테는 민박이 여관보다 안전한 거 같아요)

there are many drunken people in 여관.. which is not safe at all..
(여관에 술취한 사람이 많아서 안전하지 못하거든요)

but for 민박, you have to share washroom with others...(like house owner.. or other people who stay there..)
(그런데 민박같은 경우, 화장실을 다른 사람이랑 나눠써야해요 집주인이나 거기서 지내는 다른 사람들이랑요)

and some of 민박 is really cold during winter and really hot during summer... so...lol
(그리고 몇몇 민박은 겨울에는 아주 춥고 여름에는 아주 더워요...)

however, if you go to nice 여관 (that you cant hear noise from next door :P),
(근데 옆방 소음이 잘 안들리는? 좋은 여관으로 가면)

u can have private, also own washroom hehe ; D
(private도 있고, 화장실도 혼자 쓸 수 있어요)

but as i mentioned above.. it could be not safe...
(근데 위에서 말했듯이 안전하지 못할 수도 있어요)

so.. when i travel alone.. i prefer to go to 민박 but when i travel with my friends then i prefer 여관 : )
(그래서 저는 혼자 여행을 할 경우에는 민박이 더 좋지만 친구들이랑 갈 때는
여관에 가는 게 더 좋아요 : ))
