Share 'Travel opinion: minbak or yeogwan'

so I've been asking everyone, might as well ask here too when you travel in korea, which do you prefer: 민박 or 여관? most of my korean friends think 민박 is better because you get food too... I was thinking it might give a closer contact with the locals too... and also you wouldn't have to listen to "오빠 오빠!" from the next door room of a 여관... what do you think? what have your experiences been?
