Yeah seems you are teaching Kindergarten kids. Wow! I'm impressed, takes a lot of energy to teach those little monsters. haha. I'm glad to see that you are making good use of your time here. It's a small country, but I'm sure there's lots to see. I have been here 2 years and don't think I've even seen half yet. As far as Ilsan goes, it's a little bit different from Seoul. It's a bit cleaner and quieter. Nice place to live, but not much to see. I live right in front of a huge famous park called Lake Park. It's great for exercise or just scenery. You gotta see it sometime. They're still building here, so I'm sure there will be much more to see. However, close to here, there are many places like Im Jing Kak (a memorial for all those Koreans that got trapped in North Korea during the Korean War). You can see North Korea from there. Also there is Paju. They have a few places there like English village (which in my opinion just looks like a university in America to me) As far as me going to Seoul, I used to go more often, but lately I've been spending a lot of time here in Ilsan. If you would like to see Ilsan sometime, I'd be glad to show you around a bit.

the ice-fishing trip does look sweet, and surely a korean experience. i can't commit yet because i'm leaving for a trip to china in a few days so i might have to wait until i get back before saying one way or the other. we'll definitely get a group to go hike/pub sometime. i know a few people, guys and gals, who would be up for it.

Its about 25-30 minutes from Seoul, maybe even closer by car. Depends on where in Seoul you are at. My 2 years have been good and bad, but for the most part its not bad. Most Koreans spend their time drinking everyday. I'm not much of a drinker. I usually like to watch movies, go skiing, try different things. I'm usually open to try new things. What about you? What have you been doing? You're a teacher right? Where you from?

Hello there. My name is JAy. I am a Korean-American gyopo. I lived in America for 26 years and now I live in Korea. I actually live in Ilsan to be exact. I am currently teaching English at a private institute. I have been living in Korea for 2 years now and can also speak and understand Spanish and Korean as well. I came to this website to make some new friends. Well, hope to hear from you soon!

Hi!
I've been having lots of fun here. Moved here last March. Kinda busy during the week but I usually go somewhere like Hongdae or Itaewon on Saturdays. When the weather is warmer there are a lot of outdoor things to do like festivals, hiking etc. How are you liking it so far?
